Phyllis A. Hatcher, 67, of Fort Myers, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2010.
She was born in Amityville, N.Y. to Eugene H. “Bud” and Louise E. (Hobby) Ketcham, who preceded her in death.
Phyllis was a loving mother and was adored by her grandchildren. A local resident since 1973, she lived on Sanibel until 1987 then moved to Fort Myers. Phyllis retired from The Canterbury School in 2002 after teaching for 27 years. She dedicated her life to the many children she taught and cherished the friendships she made throughout her many years at The Canterbury School.
After retiring, Phyllis enjoyed being a concierge at Cypress Cove Retirement Community, where she loved working with the staff and the residents.
She was a member and Deacon at St. Michael Lutheran Church, Fort Myers and loved to spend time with her family, cook, read, play bridge and go to the beach.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Krista Hatcher and granddaughter, Sydney, of Fort Myers, her son, Chad (Terra) Hatcher, her grandchildren, Shelby, Cole, Chandler and Aidan, of McKinney, Texas, her sister, Barbara (Bob) Kilpatrick of Toccoa, Ga. and her nieces and nephew.
A Celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 3 p.m. at St. Michael Lutheran Church, located at 3595 Broadway in Fort Myers.
