The circus comes to South Seas Island Resort on March 12

By Staff | Mar 4, 2010

Dazzling displays from amazing acrobats, jugglers and magicians will astound audiences as the circus comes to South Seas Island Resort on March 12.

Jugglers, acrobats, magicians, aerialists and more – yes, the circus is coming to Captiva!

South Seas Island Resort will hold their premier weekend circus event on Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13 in the resort’s main ballroom, which will be transformed to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the inside of a circus tent.

The Russian troupe of circus performers consists of talented entertainers who have delighted audiences all over the world and who regularly perform their incredible routines in Las Vegas. The theatrical show will include acrobatics, juggling, visually stunning multiple jump-roping and magicians – and audience participation is a key element.

“Keeping in mind our family brand, having a circus come to Captiva is great fun for the entire family. For parents with children, or just for the young at heart, these acts will bring awe and wonder to all,” said Carolyn Hudson, South Seas director of communications and community relations.

“Depending upon the turn-out for the premier weekend event, the circus acts event could become a regular activity,” Hudson added.

During the event, there will be a cash bar for alcoholic beverages and a concession stand offering circus classics such as popcorn, hot dogs, candy and soda.

Doors to the ballroom, located in Chadwick’s Square, will open at 5:45 p.m. and the show will run from 6 to 7 p.m. Parking will be available.

All members of the public are invited to come to the circus and join in on the fun.

You can purchases tickets at the door, $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under, or in advance by calling 472-5111 ext. 3530.

South Seas Island Resort is located at 5400 Plantation Road.
