Police have a man in custody after officials say he held a woman at gunpoint in a southeast Cape Coral home.
The woman was unharmed in the early morning incident, officials said.
Cape police have secured the scene at 1819 S.E. 6th Terrace where they responded at 12:55 a.m. to a possible suicide attempt at the home. A man identified as Kevin James was inside the residence, reportedly armed with a handgun and holding an unnamed woman against her will, officials said.
SWAT was called as was the Hostage Negotiation Team.
James exited the house at 4:12 a.m. and was taken into custody without incident, police said, adding the woman was secured and appeared to be unharmed.
The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released when available, officials said.
