Join the Library Foundation for lunch with author Clive Cussler
Fans of Clive Cussler are invited to enjoy “Lunch with the Author” on Thursday, Jan. 14 starting at noon at The Sanctuary Golf Club.
The event is sponsored by the Sanibel Public Library Foundation, Inc.
Cussler is known as the Grand Master of the American action adventure novel. His books are published in more than 100 countries with a readership of more than 125 million avid fans. His internationally bestselling books include “Raise The Titanic,” “Treasure,” “Sahara,” “Trojan Odyssey” and “Medusa.” His newest book, “The Wrecker,” features the return of hero Isaac Bell.
In addition to his bookwriting abilities, Cussler is the founder of the National Underwater & Marine Agency (NUMA), a non-profit organization that dedicates itself to American maritime and naval history. Cussler and his crew of marine experts and NUMA volunteers have discovered over 60 historically significant underwater wreck sites including the C.S.S. Hunley, best knows as the first submarine to sink a ship in battle; the U-20, the U-boat that sand the Lusitania; and the Cumberland, sunk by the famous ironclad, Merrimack.
Cussler’s appearance is part of the Sanibel Public Library Author Series. The Series this season features – in addition to Cussler – Elizabeth Berg, Jane Hamilton and Pulitzer Prize-winner Elizabeth Strout. Jodi Picoult kicked off the Series on Dec. 7.
Lunch with the Author tickets are available at the Library through Jan. 11. The price is $45 per ticket; $20 of the price is tax deductible.
Proceeds from Lunch with the Author will be used by the Library Foundation to continue its support for the Library Author Series.
