Florida Division of Forestry will conduct a three-acre prescribed burn in the preserve behind Littleton Elementary School in North Fort Myers today. The burn will start around 9:30 a.m. and finish in early afternoon.
The burn is being conducted to reduce dense vegetation in the area and promote plant and wildlife diversity. Lee County School District approved the project earlier this year and conditions are favorable today for the work.
