A woman attempting to cross Colonial Boulevard was struck and killed early Tuesday morning.
Fort Myers Police Department responded to the crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Winkler Avenue Extension at 5:40 a.m.
The investigation revealed that a husband and wife were attempting to cross Colonial Boulevard when Jodie Provost-Hansen, 31, of 4721 Orange River Loop Road, walked into the path of a Honda CR-V. Provost-Hansen was pronounced dead at the scene prior to officer arrival.
The incident is still under investigation.
