Stephen Brown returns!

The Thursday, Jan. 7 meeting of the Sanibel Master Gardener Lecture Series will feature Stephen Brown, The University of Florida Horticultural Agent, who will speak on the “Top Ten Problems of Palms.” The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Sanibel Public Library, located at 770 Dunlop Road.

Brown is recognized as the leading authority and palm expert in Southwest Florida, serving as a consultant to palm nurseries and plantations, commercial nurseries, resort destinations and cities in Lee County. He has represented the University of Florida in Lee County for more than 16 years and is the coordinator for the Lee County Master Gardener Program.

In addition, Brown writes a weekly column in the Fort Myers News-Press and is a frequent guest on Fox 4 “Morning Blend” as the plant doctor at 8 a.m. His program will include an excellent PowerPoint presentation illustrating the palm problems and a color take-home sheet.

The lecture is open to the public and admission is free. Seating is extremely limited, so early arrival is suggested.
