Writers read their works at BIG ARTS

By Staff | Dec 7, 2009

The Sanibel-Captiva Island Writers will perform selections from their prose and poetic works at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10 in BIG ARTS Phillips Gallery, located at 900 Dunlop Road in Sanibel.

The Sanibel-Captiva Island Writers members have been meeting weekly since 1984 to read and critique each other’s work and share writing-related information. Currently, five groups of 10 writers comprise Island Writers.

Selections for this reading have been chosen carefully for quality, listener friendliness, and length, by a panel representing each of the five groups. The March 12, 2009 Read was received enthusiastically by an audience of more than 120 listeners.

The readers for the Dec. 10 event will be Duke Barron, Don Brown, Raymond Buck, Nancy Carlile, Victor Dix, Vince Faraone, Sandy Greco, Tanya Hochschild, Wally Kain, Mary LaVelle, Bob Maxeiner, Joe Pacheco, Joyce Rand, Sid Simon and Lorraine Vail.

Admission to the Read will be a $3 donation to BIG ARTS.
