Tribeca Salon, located in The Village Shops, at 2340 Periwinkle Way, will host a one-day fundraising event for Friends Who Care on Monday, Dec. 7.

A portion of the proceeds from all hair care services done that day will be donated to the Friends Who Care organization. Call Tribeca Salon at 395-3800 to participate in this special event.

Friends Who Care is an island organization that works on an anonymous basis and assists families in crisis throughout the year. During the holiday season, they organize the Giving Tree program. Children from island families and families that work on the island in need of a little extra support during the holidays are the recipients of the gifts from generous islanders.

Pick up a Giving Tree “ornament” and create a brighter holiday for a child. Giving Trees are located at The Village Shops, Tahitian Gardens, Olde Sanibel Shoppes, The Post Office, Fire Department, City Hall, The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club, The Senior Center and local banks.

Return new, unwrapped gifts to any of these locations by Tuesday, Dec. 15. Friends Who Care will sort and wrap the gifts and disperse them to the various families. If you would like to volunteer with the sorting and wrapping, please call Sally at 472-5152; adults only please.
