By Staff | Dec 2, 2009

The Sanibel Captiva Art League’s first art show the season will hang on the walls of the Sanibel Public Library from Tuesday, Dec. 8 through Saturday, Jan. 2. This is a juried show of art work by league members, and only work selected by judge Frank Sadera will be shown.

The show will feature original work in watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media and original prints. Styles range from impressionistic to super realistic to abstract, and there is a variety of subject matter. Many members of the league have art degrees and/or were art teachers. Others are self taught with an unusual view of things. Most of the art work is for sale.

The judge of the show, Frank Sadera, is a well-known local artist known for his Sanibel landscapes. His striking work is often commissioned by clients on Sanibel and Captiva.

There will be a reception at the Sanibel Public Library, located at 770 Dunlop Road, on Thursday, Dec. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. Please stop by and visit the show.
