Elaine Smith Day at Bank of the Islands

By Staff | Nov 24, 2009

Bank of the Islands’ customers are encouraged to “save the date” for Tuesday, Dec. 1 – the official “Elaine Smith Day” on Sanibel.

The bank will have a lobby reception that day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. so everyone – including their seasonal customers – can share in Elaine’s retirement celebration. Smith began her service with Bank of the Islands 11 years ago and has established many friendships along the way. Her retirement was effective June 30.

“She has certainly earned the right to take it easy, be on her own time schedule and spend time with her children and grandchildren,” said Bank of the Islands Vice President and office manager Rob Lisenbee. “Elaine will be deeply missed by her family here at Bank of the Islands, but we wish her the very best. Come join us for cake, cookies and coffee as we honor Elaine and give her our very best wishes.”

Bank of the Islands, located at the corner of Periwinkle Way and Casa Ybel Road, is proud to be the winner of 17 “Best of the Islands” awards since 1999, including being chosen the Best Island Bank for 11 years straight.
