A huge success
To the editor,
The Second Annual Turkey Drop & Roll was a huge success. Thank you for all the turkeys. In total, we collected 82 turkeys – or 1,186 pounds. That’s enough to provide turkey for over 600 dinners.
Please know that your contribution went to an organization very much in need. They were very happy at the Salvation Army. It was really heart warming to see how they responded when they saw how many turkeys we donated. They mentioned that this year the need is greater than ever and that not only will they use our turkeys on Thanksgiving Day but will use the leftovers and bones to make soup for additional meals.
A special thanks goes to the generous employees of ‘Tween Waters Inn, Castaways and Beachview Cottages, who helped us surpass our original goal of 60 turkeys.
Thank you all for your contribution. This was a very special day for us because this event was in memory of our dear friend Patti Krepin who we lost last year. Patti was a big help during the first Turkey Drop & Roll and we miss her very much. We know she was watching us drop and roll all those turkeys.
We look forward to doing this again next year.
