Bailey’s Baggers hit the switch on Sanctuary Island Electric

By Staff | Nov 11, 2009

In perhaps the most exciting game of the season thus far, Bailey’s Baggers shoplifted a win over Sanctuary Island Electric.

Sanctuary Island led the entire game, at one point by as much as 11 runs. But their batteries ran out of charge and Bailey’s Baggers, led by team veteran Harold “The Hammer” Law, overpowered their opponents with a shopping cart-load of stellar batting. By the bottom of the seventh inning, Bailey’s Baggers found themselves down by four runs.

The situation looked bleak to the intrepid Bailey’s, but courage prevailed and they managed to score the final five runs, shocking Sanctuary Island Electric with a 24-23 win.

“We short-circuited at the end,” commented Todd Hayes of Sanctuary Electric.

In the other games of the evening, the Beachview Rec’N’Crew kept their perfect season alive by defeating All Island Glass in a solid 31-14 victory and the Great White Grill chomped the Aztec Plumbing Warriors, 21-6.
