Sanibel Congregational Women in Mission (SCWIM) will sponsor a two-day retreat on the beautiful campus at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 2050 Periwinkle Way, on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 16-17.

The cost for the retreat will be $45, including lunch, snacks and beverages each day. The retreat will begin each day at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Donna Papenhausen will be joining us from Atlanta, Ga. to lead this remarkable retreat. Rev. Papenhausen is an ordained United Church of Christ Minister, who has served churches in Connecticut as well as in Sarasota and Bradenton, Fla. Rev. Papenhausen is a gifted pastor, artist and retreat facilitator. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to spend two days with her.

The theme for the retreat will be “A Women’s Advent-ure: A Spiritual journey through the traditional themes of Advent in the life of our church, our world, and ourselves.” We will think, feel, sing, laugh, maybe cry, surely pray, learn and grow together. This will be a wonderful opportunity to come together with other women on the island to consider the themes of Advent joy, peace, love and hope before the real busy-ness of the holiday season sets in.
