County sent out property tax bills earlier this week

By Staff | Oct 30, 2009

The 2009 Lee County property tax bills were mailed out Monday and Tuesday.
Tammy Harrison, director of customer support for the county, said the bills are sent out over a three-day period with the tangible tax bills mailed first, then information notices on real estate and finally the real estate notices.
“They have all been released in the mail system,” Harrison said, adding that individuals should “give it at least five days” before they receive them.
Those who make an early payment will receive a discount. The discount includes 4 percent off in November, 3 percent off in December, 2 percent off in January and 1 percent off in February.
Payments can be made with all major credit cards, cash, checks, money orders, and cashier or business checks.
Harrison said tax bills must be paid by March 31 “before they become delinquent.”
She added that additional information individuals do not receive in the mail about their tax bill is available online.
The Web site also provides additional payment options for those who need to pay quarterly for next year’s taxes.
Harrison said there are options online for those who choose not to pay their property taxes in full.
Payments can be made online at: www.leetc.com.
