Cape Harbour to host third annual Monsterbash

By Staff | Oct 30, 2009

The third annual Monsterbash, to be held Saturday at Cape Harbour, promises a night full of Halloween fun for the entire family with live music, candy and prizes.
“We started them (Monsterbash) to provide a fun, safe place for families to enjoy Halloween together,” Laura Straus said. “It will be a fun family evening for kids, pets, families and adults.”
Monsterbash is a free event.
“Parking is free. There’s no entry fee for the children’s parade, the dog competition or the adult costume,” Straus said. “Everything is abosuletly free.”
She said the only thing participants have to pay for is the “restaurants’ fabulous Halloween food.”
Those who wish to attend are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.
Soapy Tuna will perform from 6 -10 p.m., while judges roam the crowds to select the “most frightfully unique, wickedly fun and ghoulish adult costume.”
The grade prize for the contest is $500 cash, along with other great prizes. Winners will be announced at the end of the night.
Cape Harbour merchants will host a trick or treat walk for children down the Promenade, along with a children’s costume parade beginning at 5 p.m.
A pet costume contest will be hosted by The Joint at 6 p.m.
Straus said there are things to do for the whole family to enjoy.
“Previous years have been fabulous turnout and all the families have had a wonderful time,” she said.
