Bailey’s Baggers price-checked by Beachview Rec’N’Crew

By Staff | Oct 20, 2009

After just two weeks of games, there were only two undefeated teams remaining-Beachview Rec’N’Crew and Bailey’s Baggers. Week 3 saw the pair pitted against each other.

“There can be only one,” said Luke Sweeny, Rec’N’Crew team captain and Highlander fan.

Like gladiators engaged in a death match, the two teams tip-toed and danced around each other for the first few innings. Eventually, Beachview unleashed a flurry of blows that caught Bailey’s Baggers by complete surprise.

Before they realized what was happening, Bailey’s saw their undefeated season get a serious price-check. Result: Beachview Rec’N’Crew remains the only undefeated team, beating Bailey’s Baggers by a 22-2 margin.

In the other games played last week, the Sanctuary Island Electric got their power switched off by the Great White Grill, 17-4.

“We had too many negatives charges,” Ray Walker of Sanctuary Electric said. “It led to an imbalance of energy flow. Next week we will change our current by focusing on the positive.”

It is still unclear if he was talking about the softball game or his yoga exercises.

The Aztec Plumbing Warriors improved to a 2-1 record by plunging All Island Glass into oblivion with a 24-1 win.

“Flush you!” chided Dennis English of All Island Glass after the loss.
