Joe Barton “Tarpon Joe” Ligon

Joe Barton Ligon of Hattiesburg, Miss., died on Saturday, Oct. 3 in Liberty, Miss. He was 56.

Ligon and his family lived for several years on Sanibel Island in the 1990s.

Joe is survived by his mother, Pat Pack Ligon Woodall of Hattiesburg; two sons, Jean-Michael Ligon and Christian Joel Ligon, both of Long Beach, Miss.; a daughter, Sarah Ligon-Lebrmann of Seattle, Wash.; and a brother, Jerry Ligon of Boca Raton, Fla.
