A Bonita Springs man was fatally injured Sunday when he collided with a concrete curb near Bonita Beach Road and was ejected from the motorcycle he was driving.
Leonard A. Audet, 68, was traveling north on the off ramp of State Road 93 in the right turn lane of the exit ramp, approaching the intersection of County Road 865, Bonita Beach Road at about 3:26 p.m. He lost control of the bike, traveled off the roadway and collided with a raised concrete curb that seperates the roadway from a grassy center median, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The bike became airborne and began to rotate counterclockwise in the center grassy median, ejecting the driver. The motorcycle came to final rest on its right side in the median facing south.
Audet died on-scene.
