Norma Gibson

Norma “Nonnie” Frances Gibson of Captiva, formerly of Richmond, Va., died on Sept. 24 at her home. She was 86.

She was born on March 1, 1923 in Newport News, Va., a child of Beverly Green and Laura Frances (Beckner) Powell.

Norma had been a resident of Lee County since 1994 and attended St. Bridgett Catholic Church when living in Richmond.

She was the wife of the late Otis J. Gibson, who died in 1983 and mother of the late Pamela Gibson Offer, who died in 1981. She is survived by her son, Ronald E. (Phyllis) Gibson Sr. of Captiva, her grandchildren, Georgann M. Ramage of Cape Cod, Mass., Ronald E. Gibson Jr. of Williamsburg, Va. and Kevin B. Offer of Captiva, six great grandchildren and her brother, Jesse Jerome Powell Sr. of St. Mary’s County, Md.
