Annual street resurfacing project begins today on Sanibel
The City of Sanibel’s annual street resurfacing project will commence on Monday, Sept. 14. Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience to the public. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times. The public is reminded to use caution when traveling through a construction zone.
Every year, the city resurfaces selected roads based upon a time schedule and existing condition. This year’s road resurfacing contract amount is $414,839.00 involving the full-width resurfacing of 12 streets, radii paving and several miscellaneous small paving projects. The contractor is required to complete the project within 60 days.
Streets being resurfaced include:
Sea Oats Drive
Sea Walk Court
Wax Myrtle Way
Golden Olive Court
Paper Fig Court
In addition, Tarpon Bay Road will be resurfaced between Island Inn Road and Sanibel-Captiva Road.
