On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the City of Sanibel will begin repair work to the Bowman’s Beach Bridge and construction will continue through Sept. 30.

The bridge will not be available for use during the nighttime construction hours of 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. The bridge will be available for pedestrian use during the day between the hours of 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The project involves the removal and replacement of wood decking, hand rails and other miscellaneous items. The City of Sanibel has contracted with Stokes Marine, Inc. to perform this work. The Lee County Tourist Development Council (TDC) is providing funding for this project.
