Chrome Divas to host ‘High Heels and Two Wheels’
Strap on your favorite high heels and sashay over to Sun Sports Cycle and Watercraft for an afternoon of fun for a good cause next weekend.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, beginning at 1 p.m. the Chrome Divas will host, “High Heels and Two Wheels,” featuring live entertainment, contests, workshops, a fashion show, a poker run and a live bachelor auction.
The festivities begin with a Ladies Mingle, a workshop and registration from 1 to 2 p.m. at Sports Cycle and Watercraft in Fort Myers. At this time, any interested women can register to participate in the Chrome Diva Poker Run which will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. The cost to participate in the poker run is $10 for the biker and $5 for a passenger.
During the poker run two workshops will be offered as well. One of the workshops will be held at North Fort Myers Florist, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., and the other will take place at Fort Myers Harley Davidson, also from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The cost of participating in the workshops is $5 each and registration for these workshops will be taken during the Ladies Mingle as space will be limited.
Following the poker run, a fashion show and safety seminar will take place at Sun Sports, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by live entertainment from the Pine Island group, Whipping Post, at 6 p.m. Later that evening the Divas will hold a silent auction and host an all-women’s bike show.
Registration for the bike show will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. ending with an award ceremony at 8:15 p.m. The bike show is open to all women who would like an opportunity to show off their rides and possibly win a prize.
Also at 7 p.m. will be the “Fabulous Shoe Contest.” Prizes will be awarded for the highest shoe, best Diva-style shoe, most colorful and the OMG, I Gotta Have Them Shoes.
The event will culminate with a bachelor auction beginning at 8:30 p.m. According to Diva Director Donta Morris, the men participating in the auction come from very different walks of life and include a chiropractor, a marina owner, an alternative CM member and a drummer from a rock band.
Morris also said that several sponsors that have stepped forward to offer goods and services to have made this event possible.

According to Morris, the festivities will continue after the event at Sun Sports as all are invited to join the women at Ali Gators later that evening where they plan to keep the party going.
The Chrome Divas of the Fort Myers and Cape Coral chapter are a group of women who not only share a love of motorcycles and ride as frequently as possible, but are also dedicated to making a difference in their community. The Divas host or participate in numerous fund-raisers throughout the year including Bikers for Babies, for March of Dimes, as well as special benefits to honor local heroes and fallen fellow bikers and their families.
All of the proceeds from this event also will benefit the March of Dimes. The Divas meet on the first Monday of each month at 6314 Corporate Court, Suite C-3, in Fort Myers, beginning at 7 p.m., and all women, whether bikers or passengers, are welcome to join.
