By Staff | Aug 17, 2009

Are you interested in music? Do you like to sing? The Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and Chorus’ want you!

The Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and Chorus have a history of maintaining the highest standard of professional orchestral and choral productions and are looking for talented individuals that have a love of music. Positions are available in our Adult Chorus, Youth Chorus and our Youth Orchestra.

With Conductor Joe Caulkins at the podium, the Symphony’s Adult Chorus is a great place to network with people who have similar interests and enjoy singing beautiful pieces that spotlight their voice. Whether you are a spectacular soprano, a brilliant bass or anything in-between, we would love for you to share your gift with us. The Adult Chorus performs with the Symphony Orchestra and with the Chamber Orchestra.

Under the leadership of Cathy Truesdale, the Youth Chorus is the place to be. If you are in a choir at church or have been in a choir at school and want to try something new, the Symphony Youth Chorus is a great way to get the training that you need and meet new friends. The Youth Chorus also performs with the Symphony Orchestra.

It doesn’t get any better than having the Maestro of a professional symphony orchestra teach your child how to play exciting yet professional level masterpieces. Maestro Michael Hall will be lead the students on a musical journey of imaginative pieces as professional musicians train and mentor individuals. The Youth Orchestra perform their own concert series throughout the Symphony season.

Auditions for both choruses are by appointment only. They will be on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 31 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in downtown Fort Myers.

Auditions for the Youth Orchestra will be held Monday, Aug. 31 and Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 4 until 9 p.m. Location is yet to be determined.
