‘Making The Cut’ writers workshop coming Saturday
On Saturday, Aug. 15 at 10 a.m., publisher and editor Robert E. Gelinas will conduct a workshop on manuscript preparation for the Gulf Coast Writers Association entitled “Making The Cut.”
The workshop will focus on learning first-hand what TO DO, and possibly more importantly, what NOT TO DO when it comes to submissions to an editor, including a candid discussion of how editors think, what they are looking for, and what they hate.
Participants will be divided up into small editorial groups, play the role of acquisitions editors and argue for their nominations to the one available publication slot.
Gelinas guarantees that the workshop will be one of the most enlightening “behind the scenes” insights an author will ever get to experience.
The “Making The Cut” meeting and workshop will take place at Freedom Hall, Zion Lutheran Church, located at 7401 Winkler Road in Fort Myers. Admission is $20 for non-members and $10 members.
