On Wednesday evening, Aug. 19, Sanibel Community Church will host a community film night with the award winning film “Expelled” starring Ben Stein.

Big science has expelled smart ideas from the classroom. What they forgot is that every generation has its rebel! That rebel, Ben Stein, travels the world on his quest and learns an awe-inspiring truth that educators and scientists are being ridiculed, denied tenure and even fired for merely believing that there might be evidence of “design” in nature.

Movie Guide gives this film four stars and calls it “a must see movie.” Dick Rolfe of Dove Foundation says, “Comedian Ben Stein hits the nail right on the funny bone.”

Beginning at 6 p.m. kosher hot dogs, chips and salad with all the fixins will be served, followed by the film at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend and enjoy. There will be the opportunity to give a love offering for the meal and film.
