Investigators seeking information in fatal shooting in Lehigh
Investigators are seeking information surrounding the shooting of a woman found critically injured in her vehicle in Lehigh Acres this morning.
The victim, identified as Takilia Smith, 29, of Lehigh was airlifted to the Trauma Center at Lee Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
She was found in her car after deputies were called to a shooting in the area of Martin Avenue South and 27th Street S.W. at 3:13 a.m.,
Due to the nature of the incident, homicide detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. Crime scene technicians have collected and documented evidence on scene. An autopsy is pending.
No other details have been released and the investigation is continuing.
