Second grade teacher accused of sexual battery

A second grade teacher at Tropic Isles Elementary School in North Fort Myers was charged with sexual battery and lewd & lascivious molestation Wednesday after two children in his classroom told parents he had touched them inappropriately.
David McNabb, 51, 11982 Glen Avenue, Fort Myers, was arrested at approximately 8:30 p.m. following an investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Sex Crimes Unit, officials said. He faces one count capital sexual battery and two counts of lewd & lascivious molestation.
Two girls under the age of 12 told investigators that McNabb reached under their desks on several occasions during class and touched them. The investigation began after each student told her parents similar accounts of what they said was happening in David McNabb’s classroom.
McNabb was questioned by investigators and subsequently arrested.
The investigation continues, officials said.
