By Staff | Jul 13, 2009

The Save the Pets Alliance, Harry Chapin Food Bank & Tanger Outlets have partnered to do the “Feed Our Families and their Pets Food Drive” at Tanger Outlet on July 18 on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
“Best friends are forever. Don’t let them lose their families over a bowl of food” is the motto for the Save the Pets Alliance. Times are hard all around, and shelters are getting an increasing number of animals because their families just cannot afford to keep them. The Save the Pets Alliance understands that best friends are forever, and they are working to keep it that way. The Save the Pets Alliance is a cooperative effort of The Animal Refuge Center, Lee County Animal Services, Caloosa Veterinary Medical Supply, PETCO, Cyber Sunshine and the Harry Chapin Food Bank to provide the food and supplies necessary to keep pets in their homes, rather than in shelters.
All stores at the Tanger Outlet Center will collect nonperishable food and pet items for donation. In addition the Animal Refuge Center will have animals available for adoption, Other groups participating: Petco, and the Lee County Sheriff’s VOICE program. Even one can of food will keep a pet with their family for one more day.
