Florida Bar President Jesse H. Diner appointed Fort Myers resident Carole Green to The Florida Bar’s Citizens Forum for a three-year term beginning in July. Green has more than 40 years of experience as a health care and public service advocate.
Green is the co-founder and president of Capitol Strategies Consulting, Inc. a government- and issue-based advocacy form. She served from 1998 to 2004 in the Florida House of Representatives. During that time she chaired and served on several committees including the Future of Florida Families, as chair of Health Appropriations and on the Select Committee on Security post 9/11. She was also Deputy Majority Whip. From 2004 to 2006 she served as Secretary of the Department of Elder Affairs.
The Citizens Forum serves as a feedback mechanism and sounding board on Bar plans and programs and advises Bar leaders regarding public understanding and support of significant legal and justice issues.
There are 12 citizen representatives on the Citizens Forum. Two other newly appointed Citizens Forum members are Mary Gardiner Evertz of St. Petersburg and Shirley Gooding-Butler of Tallahassee.
