Miracle hosting summer baseball camps

By Staff | Jun 4, 2009

Parents looking for a few days of respite during the summer need look no further than Hammond Stadium. Miracle Baseball will hold its three-day youth baseball camps in June and July.

Kids from ages 6 through 12 will learn how to run like Ben Revere, hit like Steve Singelton and pitch like David Bromberg.

This years’ camp at Hammond Stadium, for ages 6-8, will be from June 24-26 and camp for ages 9-12 will be July 27-29. Each camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day. A special one-day advanced camp for ages 13-18 is scheduled for Monday, July 20.

For just $115, each child will receive breakfast of donuts and juice, lunch, a camp t-shirt, a baseball cap, graduation certificate, a ticket to each of the Miracle games on the corresponding camp days and professional teaching experience from Miracle players and coaches.

“I can’t think of anything better for the kids this summer,” said Miracle manager Jeff Smith. “Our players love helping kids and for three days they will devote their time and instill the basics and help the kids hone their talents. I’ve done these camps before and I love seeing the smile on these kids faces when they step out on the diamond with our players.”

Camp is limited and is filling up fast. To register your child, call Joy Donahue at the Miracle office at 239-768-4210 or visit the Miracle Web site at www.miraclebaseball.com for more information.
