BIG ARTS invites members, community to exhibit

By Staff | May 28, 2009

Established artists and those trying to get their paintbrushes out there and show their art work will get a chance to do so during the BIG ARTS Members Exhibit.

On June 1 Founders Gallery will open the Members Exhibit to the community. The exhibit which will showcase 2D and 3D work is open to BIG ARTS members. Any member can participate and exhibit their work, said Shareen Groce, Founders Gallery Coordinator.

The show will run from June 1 to Sept. 18.

And unlike many exhibits, art work will not be juried. The pieces on exhibit will be available for sale.

“It’s an opportunity for members to show their artwork and be seen,” Groce said.

Anyone who is not a member can become one and then exhibit their work. The membership fee is $30. The fee will change after June 30, the end of BIG ARTS 30th anniversary and fiscal year.

As far as some of the pieces being submitted? Imagination is apparently the limit. Groce said one time she remembers exhibiting a bird made out of leather.

“One never knows,” Groce said.
