Daytime stars returning for Southwest Florida SoapFest

By Staff | Apr 22, 2009

Walt Willey, Michael O’Leary, Van Hansis, Thorsten Kaye, Jeff Branson and Ewa da Cruz are just some of the actors scheduled to appear at the 11th Annual Southwest Florida SoapFest charity weekend, May 2 and 3.

This year promises to be even more exciting with an amazing group of stars ready to make the trip to Marco Island’s beautiful white sandy shores. Actors from All My Children, As The World Turns, Guiding Light and One Life To Live will mingle with festival goers for a weekend of special events for everyone; including non-stop cruises, parties and auctions. If you have never experienced this wonderful event set in the largest of Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands, then now is your chance to get up close and personal to your favorite stars in this exotic setting.

The 2009 event kicks off in style on Saturday, May 1 at 6 p.m. with an exclusive VIP event, “A Night Of Stars.” This year’s event will be held at Bistro Soleil, located at the historic Olde Marco Inn. Award-winning French Chef Denis Meurge has put together a fabulous menu for our guests. There will be lots of opportunities for up close and personal time with residents of Springfield, Oakdale, Pine Valley and Port Charles. Celebrity guests will be available for autograph signing, photos, Q&A, auctions and lots of surprises.

The fun continues later that night with our Celebrity Bartender Bash at Almost Famous Mel’s Smokehouse Grill. Back by popular demand, this “After Party” karaoke event will have daytime celebrities singing their hearts out and pouring drinks all night long.

On Sunday, May 3 from noon to 3 p.m., it’s an afternoon of Cruisin’ Boozin’ & Schmoozin’ With The Stars aboard the beautiful Marco Island Princess. This idyllic event provides the perfect opportunity to mix and mingle with daytime’s best during a sightseeing tour of beautiful Marco Island. Once again, there will be opportunities for autographs, photos, raffle prizes, special auction items and many surprises.

Throughout the weekend, there will be opportunities to get your hands on some real exciting items during various charity auctions. Get ready to bid on some exclusive one-of-a-kind auction items including original artwork by actors, studio tours, ticket packages to the Emmys and lunch with your favorite star. However, you must be there to bid. There will be different items showcased and auctioned off during each event.

Various special ticket packages are available. For further information, visit www.soapfest.com or call 239-394-4559 and be sure to move quickly – these special once-in-a-lifetime events are extremely popular and spaces are limited.
