Policy should be reversed

By Staff | Mar 11, 2009

To the editor,

I was glad to see the excellent letter from Francine Litofsky concerning the policy of destroying alligators on Sanibel. Iguanas and monitor lizards are multiplying for the simple reason that there are no predators to control them.

Almost everyone I have talked to – visitors and island residents alike – are upset about this policy and think it should be reversed.
