Mardi Gras celebrated at Tahitian Gardens
Tahitian Gardens held its first Mardi Gras celebration last week with a mask decorating contest and a special shopping day on Fat Tuesday.
Winners of the Mask Decorating contest were Joan Germundsen, who received a $10 gift certificate from The Sanibel Caf, as well as sisters Madison and Morgan Czarnecki, who received a $20 gift certificate from Cheeburger Cheeburger.
Also on Fat Tuesday, many of the stores passed out beads and shopping prizes. Marcos from Shiny Objects passed out plastic beads while just down the porch, The Cedar Chest Fine Jewelry store passed out gold bangles to lucky patrons every hour. Many of the specialty shops had special goodies packed up for this fun occasion.
Calling all car enthusiasts
R.L.R. Investments, L.L.C. and Walker Yacht Sales are hosting a car show at Tahitian Gardens on Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This display of automobiles will be an exhibition, not a competition. They are planning on a fun family day at Tahitian Gardens – the men can browse through the cars and boats; there will be a bounce house, face painting and entertainment for the kids; and the women can shop.
If you’d like to spend a fun family day on the island with fellow car enthusiasts, call Barbara Harrington at 472-2783 to reserve your complementary space; only 12 spaces remain. We currently have some classic cars, Corvettes, Mustangs and “Woodies” participating.
