‘Taste of the Islands’ cancelled for 2009
The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (C.R.O.W.) announced over the weekend that it’s 29th Annual “Taste of the Islands” fundraiser has been put on hiatus for this year “only due to the uncertain economic conditions in Southwest Florida.”
“C.R.O.W. looks forward to bringing the ‘Taste’ back in 2010,” their press release stated. “For C.R.O.W., the ‘Taste’ not only represents a community celebration of food, fun and festivities but also an opportunity to present C.R.O.W.’s mission while helping fund the operating budget each year.”
Taste of the Islands had been voted “Best Island Event” for several years.
“This year, people simply do not have cash in their pockets to spend and
it can be an expensive day for attendees,” said long-time Taste organizer and Acting Director of Development Anita Pinder. “We are looking forward to, once again, making C.R.O.W.’s 2010 ‘Taste of the Islands’ the party of the year!”
