Special Rauschenberg exhibit opening at CCA on Feb. 13

By Staff | Feb 5, 2009

Friday the 13th will be a lucky day for Captivans and fans of the celebrated Robert Rauschenberg as the Captiva Civic Association will host a special exhibition featuring special posters and prints by the late, great artist.

“When Sharon (Brace) and I talked about how we could honor Bob on the island, I thought the best way to honor Bob was by continuing to support the charities he loved,” said Kelsey Angstadt, who is assisting with organizing the event.

The posters and prints that will be on display were designed by Rauschenberg for local charities, including Arts For ACT. Selected items will be available for purchase.

The opening reception for this special exhibition will take place on Friday, Feb. 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is no cost for admittance.

Folks who would like to view the exhibition after the reception will have to contact the CCA for an appointment.

If you have any questions regarding the exhibition, call the CCA at 472-2111. The CCA is located at 11550 Chapin Lane.
