CCA to premier new WGCU documentary about Captiva
The premier of WGCU Public Media’s latest installment in their Untold Stories series will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Captiva Civic Association Community Center, located at 11550 Chapin Lane.
Captivan Ron Gibson has been working steadily on behalf of the CCA to collect funds for the project.
Residents of Captiva, many of whom have generously donated funds for the project, will be able to watch this brand new installment one week before it will air on WGCU.
The event will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the lawn at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., the premier will begin, as attendees get an advanced screening of the latest WGCU documentary, “Paradise? Or Paradise Lost?,” a 30-minute documentary all about Captiva Island.
There are 45 installments already in the Untold Stories series, some of which have featured the Sanibel Causeway and the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
All guests attending the event will receive a copy of the program on DVD as part of the $40 admittance fee.
Invitations with reservation information will most likely be sent out by Feb. 2, but those who would like to request an invitation may do so by calling the CCA at 472-2111.
