Collage

Getting Groovy with Collage will be held on Jan. 15 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Anita Force Marshall. Open to ages 12 and older, it is for beginners and intermediates. Cost is $35 for members and $40 for non-members. For information, contact 239-322-8593 or anitabutterfly0@gmail.com.

Painting with Friends

Painting with Friends will take place on Jan. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Artists of all levels of expertise are welcome, as long as they bring their own supplies and are able to paint independently. Audubon Lecture

The Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Society will host a lecture, "Climate & Birds: Their Future & Ours," on Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. Suggested $10 donation per attendee, with proceeds to promote conservation on Sanibel and in Florida. Culinary Workshop

Resident Chef Jarred Harris will host a Culinary Workshop on Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme is "Pasta and Cheese Making, Olive Oil Tasting." Menu to include: caprese salad with fresh mozzarella, lobster ravioli in truffled cream, linguini carbonara, and olive oil cake with flavored olive oils. Cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members.

Alla Prima Oil Painting

Alla Prima Oil Oil Painting will be held on Jan. 20 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Suzette. The subject will be a bundle of blueberries. Participants will take home a finished work of art. Open to ages 12 and older. Cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members.

Monday Current Events

Shell Crafters

Shell Crafting Class will be held on Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Make flower figures or animals. Limited class size; first come first served. Children must be accompanied by an adult due to the complexity/dexterity required.

Silk Scarves with Venera will be held on Jan. 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. Create a scarf with French dyes and sea salt. Cost is $40 for members and $45 for non-members. Additional scarves can be made for $12.

Climate Presentation

Ariel Hoover, chair of the Lee County Climate Reality Project, will present "How Does Climate Change Affect Our Food Supply?" on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. A former public school teacher at Tufts University in a special program for Chinese students, she was trained by the Climate Reality Project on the many aspects of climate change and is part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.
