August 21, 2019
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva and Lee Health Solutions will offer a community presentation, "Food as Medicine: Eating to a Healthier You," on Sept. 11 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Saint Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, at 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.

The workshop will teach participants how to enjoy an anti-inflammatory diet while resolving health concerns or diagnoses through a nutrition-focused approach. Anyone who has an inflammatory condition such as, but not limited to, arthritis, hypertension, high cholesterol, autoimmune conditions, gastrointestinal issues, or someone looking to prevent a condition would benefit from attending.

"Food is medicine and it is our belief to heal the body from inside out," Julie Hill, with Lee Health Solutions, said. "Healing the gut and dysfunction of other organs through nutrition can rapidly improve health, general well-being and improve disease states. The body may be capable of healing itself if we provide the correct environment, lifestyle and nutrients. At Lee Health, our mission is to heal your body, not just manage your symptoms."
