The J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge's 75th anniversary artist "in residence," Ed Anderson, finished off his eight-week stint at the refuge on July 28 with an Art Journal Walk. Later in the afternoon, he held a Live Painting event at the Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille on Sanibel - the refuge's partner in the annual "Ding" Darling & Doc Ford's Tarpon Tournament. Anderson worked on the 2020 tournament logo while painting at the restaurant. He will return for a 75th anniversary exhibition of his work, scheduled for Feb. 18 through March 18, which was inspired by his visit to the refuge. The "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge extended a special thanks to the S. Kent Rockwell Foundation for its support of the artist "in residence" program.
