Arthur Alexander Cramer Jr., 87, died peacefully on May 23, 2012, at Shell Point in Fort Myers. A dedicated family man, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary (ne Starkweather), his children Rob (Bridgett), Brian (Colette), Carolyn James (Patrick), and Elizabeth; grandchildren Dillon Halderson, Benjamin Reese (Stephanie), Haydn, Alexander, Brian (Lauren), Arielle, and Corinne Cramer, and many nieces and nephews.
Art served in WWII in both the Army and Army Air Corps (Lieutenant). He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in mechanical engineering and business. He founded the Arthur Cramer Company, a manufacturers' representative agency, and ran it for over 30 years.
Art had many interests including Boy Scouts (receiving every non-professional leadership award), Girl Scouts, Presbytery Committees, the Hinsdale Illinois Village Board (supervising construction of the Village pool), and Rotary. He headed the Hinsdale Salt Creek Club founding committee.

Art enjoyed tennis, bridge, travel, birding, camping, canoeing, and with Mary's help, opera. In 2000, Art & Mary moved from Hinsdale, Ill., to Sanibel, where they loved volunteering at the "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
Donations can be made to the Sanibel Captiva Rotary Endowment Fund, Sanibel Congregational UCC Outreach, or a charity of your choosing (please no flowers). A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ, Thursday, June 7 at 1 p.m.
