CCPD looking for victims to ID recovered property

March 15, 2012
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

Cape Coral police detectives are hoping to match recovered stolen property to its rightful owners.

On Feb. 18, four juveniles were arrested for numerous boat burglaries. According to police, the four would break into boats in the northwest section of the city and steal high-end fishing equipment, including numerous expensive fishing roads and reels, a boat radio, a boat GPS/fish finder, tackle boxes and more.

Police have not been able to reunite all of the property to its owners because many did not report the burglaries.

Detectives are asking victims of theft or burglary, in which fishing or boating equipment was taken:

- Between Dec. 1, 2011 and Feb. 18, 2012 and

- Live north of Pine Island Road and west of El Dorado Boulevard

To contact Detective Jason Hicks at (239) 242-3307 or jhicks@capecoral.net.
