Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ invites the local community to join in efforts to help flood victims in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and New England. The congregation is participating in a state-wide effort coordinated by the Florida Conference United Church of Christ to collect needed items and assemble Cleanup Buckets and Hygiene Kits to help those impacted by recent flooding.

The finished kits will be collected by volunteers driving around the state to specified drop off points, and then delivered to Church World Service for distribution to families impacted by the floods.

Sanibel Congregational UCC will be accepting donations of items through Saturday, Oct. 8. The church is located at 2050 Periwinkle Way, with office hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

To share in the effort by donating items from the a list of needed supplies, you can contact the church at 472-0497 or visit www.sanibelucc.org, click on the link for Committees and Boards on the left hand side, then the link for Mission and Benevolence to find the list of items needed.
