Summer Slam fishing tourney returning in September

The 13th Annual Summer Slam Fishing Tournament will be held at the Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa on Fort Myers Beach during the weekend of Sept. 23-25.

This is the second leg in the Caloosa Tournament Series and your last chance to qualify for the Caloosa Grand Championship in November. Teams will compete for large cash payouts, trophies and, of course, bragging rights!

On Friday, Sept. 23, teams will check-in at the hospitality suite at the Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa, where Bahama Breeze Island Grille will have refreshing cocktails flowing. After checking in, your team will receive official Summer Slam tournament gear and get to mingle with fellow anglers, sponsors and friends from all over Southwest Florida. Later that evening, the Captains meeting will be held to cover all of the rules and dinner will be sponsored by the Pink Shell.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, teams will check-in at the Bayside Marina and receive ice and Culligan water then be allowed to leave starting at 5:30 a.m. On anglers honor lines are allowed in the water at 7 a.m. when fishing begins. The weigh-station will open at 3 p.m. and remain open until 5 p.m. You must be in the weigh-in line by 5 p.m. in order to qualify.

Once your fish have been weighed, enjoy cold island-style cocktails provided by Bahama Breeze while sharing your fish stories from the day. Later that night is the awards dinner where the 13th annual Summer Slam winners will be announced and all teams that scored points will be invited to fish the invitation-only Caloosa Grand Championship on Nov. 4 and 5 at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva.
