Island Inn joins forces with 24 local businesses to attract summer visitors to Sanibel and Captiva

The Island Inn, the most established hotel on Sanibel (1895), has joined forces with 24 local businesses in an effort to encourage visitors to stay on Sanibel during the traditionally slower months of August and September. The inn has created a very attractive promotion for guests who book directly with the Inn during these two months. Retailers and local attractions are making special offers available, including free gifts, discounts and money-off purchases.

In June, the Island Inn sent out an e-Blast to over 6,000 visitors, letting them know about this special offer - more than 1,000 visitors clicked through and bookings have been extremely strong for this traditionally quiet period.

"We are delighted with the response to our summer partnership promotion," said Chris Davison, Island Inn's General Manager. "We are pleased to be able to join with some of the key island businesses and jointly market, direct to potential guests. We hope to bring more visitors to Sanibel and Captiva, who will then be able to experience the offerings of other local businesses during a traditionally quiet time."

The Island Inn has already seen a significant increase in bookings and believes this promotion has contributed to this. Visitors are coming from Germany, France, United Kingdom, Denmark, Canada as well as all areas of the United States.

Local businesses involved in this summer partnership promotion include Adventures in Paradise, Adventures in Paradise Outfitters, Amy's Something Special, Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, Bailey's General Store, Captiva Cruises, Cedar Chest Fine Jewelry, Coffee Bar @ Bailey's, Sanibel Day Spa, Sanibel Sole, Sanibella's, Shiny Objects, Spa-tini, Subway, Surroundings by Melinda, Synergy Sportswear, Tanger Outlets, Tarpon Bay Explorers, The Grog Shop, The Leather Connection, The Village Shops, Traditions On The Beach, Tribeca Salon: Hair & Nails and Yolo Watersports.

Located at 3111 West Gulf Drive on Sanibel, The Island Inn's phone number is 800-851-5088. For additional information, visit www.islandinnsanibel.com.
