The Old Croc

To the editor,

I cried for the crocodile that died on Sanibel.

These were real tears, salty as the sea at Sanibel.

She was old and lived alone on Sanibel.

The alligators will shed crocodile tears

As it ended their fears

Of the crocodile that lived on Sanibel.

She was a wonder to behold

Even though she was getting old,

The crocodile that died on Sanibel.

O mate, I guess that was her fate.
