Actually, there are three playoff games being played this weekend on Sanibel.

In the younger division of the Sanibel Flag Football League, the Steelers and the Dolphins will square off for the championship while the Giants and Chargers will battle it out for third place.

In the middle division, the Rams and the Raiders will fight it out for first place while the Cardinals and the Browns will determine who finishes third. In the older division, Bill Strange and his undefeated Panthers will go for a perfect season against the Cowboys, while the Bengals and Titans play the consolation game.

All 120 kids will celebrate another successful season this year by receiving trophies from a surprise Miami Dolphins player this Friday night.

We would like to thank our league sponsors for making football possible for the island youth: Cooper Construction, Doc Fords, Hungry Heron, Island Pizza, Lazy Flamingo, Nick Adams Photography, Pfeifer Realty Group, Sanibel-Captiva Community Bank and the Sanibel Captiva Trust Company.
